You may get lucky and have fairly reliable motoring, MORE likely, you will get serious electrical problems. Why not buy a sensible car like to start with, if you do not like the German cars, you can pick up a SAAB 93 quite reasonably, they are quite sporting in nature and a little quirky, like the Alfa !

Try http://www.alfaowner.com/ for an answer that may be useful. Loads of people happy to help.

If you want a reliable, functional car get a diesel Golf. If you want something with a bit more character and better looks, then you may loose out on a bit of that efficiency. Alfas have a bad reputation but are so much better than they used to be.

Do you really want to trust those mafia infiltrated spagghetti munchers with your hard earned moolah? If their past history is a guide, they perform well, for a while, then you have troubles for a long time-til you get rid of it. Then you only have the memories to deal with, and the bills. Don't you have that lovely British auto appraisal program, with the Stig and 3 other guys. they're not afraid to bag rubbish, and often do.
